Job description:
The Modelling and Simulation in the Digital Age research program, hosted by Thu Dau Mot University, currently has 14 researchers and collaborators, of which 60% are from abroad, and 80% are PhD holders. Our researches focus on the use of state-of-the-art modelling and simulation techniques and digital innovations (AI, Machine Learning, Uncertainty Quantification…) to solve complex engineering problems in smart manufacturing and healthcare applications.
The research team is looking for news staff to work on a very impactful project — digitalisation of advanced manufacturing processes. The (first) job holder is expected to develop advanced Finite Element models for the manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing – 3D printing, stamping or welding with applications in automobile and healthcare. After being validated with the experimental results, the models will be used to create a high-reliable database. The (second) job holder will then develop advanced machine learning-based models to optimise the manufacturing process parameters. The job holders will perform high-level research activities in collaboration with the world-class research groups in Europe, UK and Taiwan.
Required skills
Job 1:
- Education in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computational Mechanics, or similar
- Familiar with the mechanics of materials and experimental or computational techniques
- Extensive knowledge in the development and use of Finite Element software, hands-on coding programming to develop computational tools
- Knowledge of metallic manufacturing processes: additive manufacturing, welding or stamping
- Knowledge of Python and/or C/C++
- Experience in journal publications (for professor and postdoc positions) and English proficiency
Job 2:
- Education in applied mathematics, data science, scientific computing or relevant fields
- Extensive knowledge in the development and use of computational software, hands-on coding programming to develop machine learning models
- Experience with Python and/or C/C++
- Experience with libraries for deep learning, such as Tensorflow and/or Pytorch
- Basic knowledge of Linux programming languages
- Experience in journal publications (for professor and postdoc positions) and English proficiency
Essential
- You are interested in research and have obtained an Engineer, Master and/or PhD degree
- Ability to work as a member of a team within a dynamic research group
Salary:
20-30 million VND /month + bonus + allowances for PhD degree (assistant professors, postdocs)
15 million VND /month + bonus + allowances for Master degree (PhD Candidate)
